How to Calculate Discounts
Calculating the final price of an item on sale involves a simple formula. Whether you are shopping for clothes or groceries, this tool helps you find the real price instantly.
The Discount Formula
Original Price - (Original Price × Discount %) = Final Price
Example: A $50 shirt at 20% off.
$50 - ($50 × 0.20) = $40.
How Double Discounts Work
Many stores offer "20% off plus an extra 15% off". This does not mean 35% off.
1. First, the 20% is taken off the original price.
2. Then, the 15% is taken off the new, lower price.
Our Advanced calculator handles this "stacked" logic automatically.
